Meet us where art and critical thought are joined
Located on the Dominican University campus, the O’Connor Art Gallery presents contemporary art exhibitions that inspire thoughtful dialogue and critical thought.
The university was founded as St. Clara Academy in 1848 by a Dominican educator, who rejected the prevailing thought of the time that young women didn’t need to learn science, history and philosophy.
Originally in Wisconsin, the academy moved to its current location in River Forest in 1901 and changed its name to Rosary College, then finally Dominican University to better reflect the school’s history.
The O’Connor Art Gallery is a place for both students and the public to enjoy timely and relevant exhibitions. Strategically positioned just outside the art classrooms and studios, the gallery is a place for creative engagement and expression.
Exhibits, receptions and panels are free and open to the public.
The gallery is located on the fourth floor of Lewis Hall on Dominican University’s main campus at 7900 Division Street in River Forest. The campus is just one mile from the River Forest stop on the Metra’s Union Pacific West Line.
