Bellwood has more to offer than its excellent restaurants and awesome opportunities for getting active. Its history is sure to fascinate. Famed astronaut Gene Cernan grew up in the Village of Bellwood, and the town took great pride in watching Cernan travel to outer space during the 1960s. As commander of Apollo 17, the last manned lunar mission, Cernan was the last man to walk on the moon and his footprints are still there today.

Follow in Cernan’s footsteps on Earth with a trip to Bellwood. It’ll rock your world.
