Studio 928 is a spa-inspired space for art and events, operating under the credo that art unites people and should be accessible and affordable to all. The 26,000-square foot studio offers art classes, paint and sip parties, team building activities, and gallery space for art exhibitions. Studio 928 also hosts its own events and can be rented for private parties, weddings and other events.
The proceeds Studio 928 acquires from its art classes and from renting out its space benefits its young artist incubator, a program developed by Studio 928 head creative and founder Cheryl Vargas to reach young entrepreneurs and artists how to start and run art-based businesses.
Studio 928 is open 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. The studio is closed, Sunday through Wednesday. For private events, please contact Studio 928.

Studio 928 founder Cheryl Vargas is an educator and artist who believes in making art accessible for all people. She dreams of creating an atmosphere that evokes the Harlem Renaissance with creatives manifesting the power of art to alleviate stress and foster unity within the community.
Studio 928 is easy to get to via car, but you can also take the CTA to get there. The studio is about a five minute walk from Austin Green Line Station.
