Meet us where the seeds of artistic interest are planted
At the Actors Garden in the Oak Park Arts District students gain confidence both on stage and offstage, taking part in performances that are designed with children in mind without talking down to them, a pet peeve of founder Gigi Hudson's.
With 30 years of experience in teaching children’s theater and education, Hudson is passionate about “planting the seeds of interest” in the performing arts.
Enroll your children in one of The Actors Garden's many classes and watch their confidence and creativity grow! Classes are age specific, ranging from Introduction to Performance Workshop for kids ages 8 to 10 to Advanced Improv for kids between the ages of 12 to 16.
Hudson alongside her husband Dave Hudson, an award-winning musical writer, design performances that provide kids with their moment in the spotlight, instilling within each child an appreciation of theater, as well as the effort and talent that goes into it.
During summer, The Actors Garden puts on a four-week intensive camp in which 30 counselors help 75 students plan and perform a musical written by Dave Hudson. For the younger kiddos, The Actors Garden puts on a mini camp, teaching performing arts to children ages 4 to 8.
Classes at the Actors Garden studio take place weekly in the evening. Check their website for summer camp information.
Studio classes range from $175-$225.
With more than 30 years in children’s theater and education, Actors Garden owner Gigi Hudson is passionate about helping her students gain an appreciation for the performing arts.
