The Brookfield Shops at Progress Park - Everything You Need to Know

Something new is blooming in Brookfield—and no, it’s not just the spring flowers.

Right in the heart of downtown, six small but mighty retail spaces have popped up along Broadway Avenue, bringing a spark of creativity, entrepreneurship, and community spirit to Progress Park. Called the Brookfield Shops, this fresh retail incubator program is designed to give new businesses a running start and give locals and visitors a reason to stop, shop, and explore.

These aren’t just pop-ups. They’re the result of a village-led initiative to support homegrown talent, from coffee makers and cake decorators to jewelry designers and indie booksellers. If you’ve been wondering what’s going on in those adorable little storefronts near, we’re here to give you the scoop.

So what can you expect when you visit? A mix of small-town charm, big ideas, and a shopping experience you won’t find anywhere else. Let’s take a closer look.

What Are the Brookfield Shops at Progress Park?

Think of the Brookfield Shops as a launchpad for local dreamers. This charming row of six mini retail spaces—each just under 400 square feet—is part of a proven retail incubator model now launched in the Village of Brookfield. It’s a place where side hustles become storefronts and where passionate makers and entrepreneurs can test the waters of brick-and-mortar retail, minus the high overhead.

Close to the Brookfield Metra station and located next to Progress Park, the shops offer a rotating lineup of local vendors, from baked goods and handmade goods to fashion, accessories, and more. It’s the perfect blend of community-first thinking and small business support—and it’s already drawing attention.

Some residents have been curious about how the shops will be used. The goal is to create a unique, ever-changing space that uplifts local talent and keeps downtown Brookfield buzzing. And with a year-round schedule of events, festivals, and markets planned in and around the shops, there’s plenty to look forward to.
