Meet us for a perfect Guinness pour
Irish Times is an award-winning Irish pub that has shares all the heart and authenticity of traditional pubs in the Emerald Isle.
For over 20 years, Irish Times has been a beloved part of the Brookfield community and a favorite destination for across the Chicago area, serving up the perfect pour of Guinness and racking up accolades, while maintaining its signature charm, welcoming atmosphere and dedication to serving great food.
Irish Times has served over one million pints of Guinness and has been featured on the television "Chicago's Best" for its delicious shepherd's pie. It was voted "Best Irish Pub in Chicago" by the public in 2023 and 2025 through @chicagopubs. Irish Times won the WXRT radio listeners poll for best outdoor patio in 2020 and in 2025, the Village of Brookfield presented Irish Times with its Brookie award for the pub's commitment to keeping Brookfield beautiful.
With recognition like that, it's no wonder Irish Times is such a favorite but what truly makes this pub so special is the person behind it: owner Martin Cosgrove, who purchased the pub from his uncle and its founder Martin Lynch. Cosgrove, an Irish immigrant like Lynch, pours his heart and soul into Irish Times, making everyone who steps foot inside feel like a member of the family.
Every day, new memories are made at Irish Times, whether you're enjoying all-you-can-eat fish and chips, available every Friday, or watching Irish dancers on St. Patrick's Day. A visit to Irish Times is always magical.
It's always a good time to visit Irish Times, which is open every day, but Irish Times pulls out all the stops for its St. Patrick's Day celebration, which you can learn more about on its website.
Meals at Irish Times cost roughly $14-$19. You can also order family style!
Martin Lynch, the owner of Irish Times, will likely be at the pub to welcome you. Lynch is the nephew of the pub's founder Martin Cosgrove and is himself an Irish immigrant, hailing from Athenry in County Galway. Cosgrove is beloved by regulars and staff alike for his wonderful personality, great leadership and commitment to making the Irish Times the most highly regarded Irish pub in the Chicagoland area.
Located at 8869 Burlington Ave., Irish Times is just steps from the Brookfield stop on the BNSF Railway.
