Meet us where the cooks are kids!
At Schoolhouse Kitchen and Studio, kids are in charge of the kitchen!
Chefs teach children how to cook for themselves, while instilling in them a love and appreciation for baking and cooking. Schoolhouse Kitchen's super-fun classes and camps are open to kids as young as preschool, as well as older kids.
Depending on your child's schedule, they can participate in semester-long classes or attend a drop-in class. Schoolhouse Kitchen also hosts family cooking events, so you can cook alongside your little chef. There are even some events specifically for adults.
A wonderful place for a birthday party, Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio can be rented out for private cooking classes. What a treat!
Check the Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio website for updated schedules and to learn more about its programming.
Costs for classes depending on the offering.
Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio was founded by Cheryl Knecht-Muñoz, a co-founder of Sugar Beet Co-op in Oak Park. At Schoolhouse, Knecht gets to work with kids, inspire new chefs and teach the next generation about agriculture and organic ingredients.
