This month may be the shortest of the year, but it's one of our favorites because there is so much to love about spending February in the Oak Park area. We've got swoon-worthy Valentine's Day events, Black History celebrations, Bite the Burbs restaurant week and so much more. Mark these events in your calendar with a heart or risk breaking yours by missing them.
FLY Dance Company Performance
Witness the dynamic fusion of street dance and classical music with FLY Dance Company, known as "The Gentlemen of Hip-Hop." Their performances are a blend of youthful energy, risk-taking movement, and clever choreography set to a mix of surprising musical selections. FLY's unique style promises an evening of entertainment that transcends age and cultural boundaries.

Shop for gifts from the Oak Park Conservatory greenhouse for your valentine or treat yourself! Shop online Feb. 1-10 or shop in person Feb. 10-15. Locally-grown and full of love, choose from blooming plants and flowers such as succulents, tropical houseplants, and more.

A History of the Vivian G. Harsh Collection
In celebration of Black History Month, the Historical Society of Forest Park and the Forest Park Public Library have partnered up to bring by an archivist from the Chicago Public Library for an illuminating presentation on the history of the Vivian G. Harsh Collection, and an overview of some of the rich materials available for public research.

Adult Water Colors Class
Artists of all levels are invited to meet Wednesdays to express themselves through colors and observers of details and shapes. Learn how to draw, using watercolors, inks and pencils improving your basic skills. Join us in practicing how to mix watercolor paints to achieve the right tones, or master new brush strokes for landscapes, portrait and more

"Tangled" Screening
Join The Village of North Riverside Parks & Recreation Department for a free screening of the modern Disney classic "Tangled". We'll be screening the film in the Village Commons Gymnasium. Admission is free and concessions will be available for purchase.

Hosted by Style Society and Yoga Loft Studio, this pop-up is a special selection of local artisans and makers featuring unique handcrafted gifts, sustainable fashion, stunning jewelry, and home decor that tells a story.

Creativity Fest
Gather your family and friends to make art! Join Riverside Arts Center in creating a community art project. Finished pieces will be displayed together at RAC's Town Hall exhibition. Stop by RAC to create your art and connect with others in the community.

Cupid Crawl
Cupid Crawl is a Valentine's date with FOUR local breweries: Imperial Oak Brewing Brookfield, BuckleDown Brewing, Milk Money Brewing and Hop District Community Brewing. Buses will run a continuous route between the locations, with pickups/departures happening approximately every 15-20 minutes.

Parent-Child Valentine Card Making
Get ready for Valentine's Day! In this creative workshop, design and decorate your very own Valentine's box and make a set of handmade cards for classmates, friends and loved ones. All you have to bring is your imagination and a little love to share! This is a parent/child class.

Victorian Valentine Tea Party
Step back in time and enjoy a Victorian-era tea party at Pleasant Home. The main floor will be decked out with beautiful place settings, delicious treats, and teas to taste for you and your Valentine, as well as activities, games, and crafts.
