May Day

The Historical Society of Forest Park will be in the chapel offering free information, answering questions, and selling books and merchandise. Buttons of the Left will also be joining us with a display of buttons related to May Day and involvement of individuals buried at the cemetery. A self-guided outdoor exhibit featuring biographies of more than 100 people buried at Radical Row in Forest Home Cemetery. Visitors can explore the site at their own pace and learn about the labor leaders, activists, and radicals who shaped working-class history.

Forest Park Arts Alliance Makers Market

Saturday, May 9th 11-4pm join the Forest Park Art's Alliance for a free Maker’s Market, located inside businesses, and hosts a variety of locally made creative arts and crafts. Vendors are juried artists, producing paintings, drawings, prints, photography, comics, multimedia arts, fiber arts and crafts, pottery, jewelry, woodworks, and more!

Wonder Heroes at Wonder Works

A Taste of Black Excellence

This isn’t just dinner. It’s an experience.

A Taste of Black Excellence is a curated cultural dining event celebrating black culinary artistry, community, and modern excellence. On May 16th, four world-class chefs come together to craft an eight-course meal that tells a story of flavor, of culture, and of what it means to gather at a table built on Black excellence. 

Beyond the food, expect an evening filled with culture. Learn the history of caviar, move your body with a live line dance performance, and connect with a community that shows up and shows out. Event is 5pm - 8pm.

Oak Park Farmer's Market Kicks Off

The 2026 Farmers' Market season begins May 23!

The Oak Park Farmers’ Market will be held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday from May 23, 2026 through Nov. 14, 2026.

The Market is located in the Pilgrim Church parking lot at 460 Lake St., one block west of Ridgeland Avenue.

Forest Park Aquatic Center Opens

Illumination Fashion Show

La Grange Pet Parade

The annual Pet Parade has marked the beginning of summer in La Grange as a community tradition for over 70 years. Pet Parade Charities, established in 1999, is dedicated to promoting and supporting the health and care of animals in metropolitan Chicago. Pet Parade Charities accomplishes its mission through sponsorship of the acclaimed La Grange Pet Parade and by promoting responsible pet ownership through grants given to not-for-profits.

What's Bloomin' on Harrison

Oak Park’s favorite spring street festival, What's Blooming on Harrison, is returning to the Oak Park Arts District on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will span Harrison Street from Humphrey Avenue to Ridgeland Ave. The Craft Beer Garden and Main Stage will keep rocking until 9 p.m.

Dino Dash

Grab your dino costume, gather your pack and have a roaring good time at our brand-new Dino Dash! Race, jog, or stroll along a 2-mile fun run course entirely within Brookfield Zoo Chicago. You'll be surrounded by larger-than-life dinosaur displays and iconic Zoo views.

All registered Dino Dash participants will cross the finish line to receive a commemorative Dino Dash medal. Plus, keep the adventure going with free admission to the Zoo on race day. The Ferris wheel and carousel are included with your Dino Dash registration.
